Town of Jena cleared long ago; No civil rights violations
According to the Jena Times, July 26, 2007 U.S. Attorney Donald Washington, who is black, and the FBI held a community meeting in Jena, Louisiana. It was revealed during this meeting that both groups investigated the entire Jena School Board System, District Attorney’s office, Sheriff’s Dept, Police Dept and the 28th Judicial Court System, along with the noose incident and the fights through out that time - including the now famous attack of six black guys on one unconscious white man.
The results? There was NO evidence of any civil rights violations by any of these groups.
The FBI completed their investigation of the noose incident within one week of it’s occurrence and forwarded their results to U.S. Attorney Donald Washington. Mr. Washington determined there was no threat or attempted intimidation. He also made clear in the community meeting there was no connection between the nooses and the vicious attack on Justin Barker by the “Jena six.”
