Obama launches his lies and smears
In an attempt to propel his victim status forward, Barrak Obama has set up a website titled “Fight the Smears.” The stated purpose of this website is to address what Obama claims to be rumors circulated about he and his wife Michelle.
What rumor do we find first addressed, but the Michelle Obama “whitey” video. For those of you not familiar with the story, heavy rumors were circulating that there is allegedly a tape of Michelle Obama giving a speech, or sitting at a panel, and uses the term “whitey” in a derogatory manner.
What is particularly fun about this site is the fact that smears and lies are used to put to rest these rumors. For example, the first “lie” addressed on his site is the following about Rush Limbaugh.
Lie:
On May 30th, Rush Limbaugh said he had heard a rumor that a tape exists of Michelle Obama using the word “Whitey” from the pulpit of Trinity United Church of Christ.
Truth:
No such tape exists. Michelle Obama has not spoken from the pulpit at Trinity and has not used that word.
What is the lie? Is the Obama camp claiming that Limbaugh lied when he said he heard a rumor? Can they prove Limbaugh lied when he claimed he heard a rumor? Are they alleging Limbaugh heard no rumor, but instead created the rumor? Or, maybe the lie is Limbaugh’s claim of a rumor, knowing this to be truth? Again, where is the lie?
Lie:
Blogger Larry Johnson wrote on May 31st that he would add “New and dramatic developments. This is a heads up. I’ll post the news Monday morning by 0900 hours. Now I know why people who have seen the videotape say it is stunning. Barack’s headaches are only starting.”
Read the post
Truth:
Johnson posted no such update.
Here is a lie written by Obama’s camp. Johnson, a rabid Hillary Clinton supporter, from whom this rumor appears to have originated, did in fact post an update. You can read it here.
Lie:
Proven GOP sleazemeister Roger Stone said on Fox News on June 1st that “there’s a buzz, which I believe now to be credible, that some indelible record exists” of a tape of Michelle Obama using the term “whitey.”
Truth:
Stone conceded on June 2nd that he hasn’t met anyone who has seen the tape and that it therefore may be a hoax.
Where is the lie? I see the smear when they refer to Roger Stone as a “sleazemeister” but where is the lie? Roger Stone never claimed to have met anyone who has seen the tape, and there has certainly been buzz about a tape of Michelle Obama, so much so that Obama’s camp deigned it necessary to address it on their very website. Stone, giving his opinion, says he believes the rumors to be credible. Again, when did an opinion become a lie?
I find it fascinating that Barry must perpetuate his victim status, and can only do so by attempting to create an illusion of lies and smears where there are none, but then turns around and lies and smears himself. Of course those of us that have been paying attention over the last year or so expect no less from the empty suit.

I read somewhere on one of the today.com politicial blogs that the whitey was actually a botched together version of Michelle Obama saying “why’d he” when referring to the president’s reaction to the Katrina disaster. It’s scary how voice recordings can be manipulated - the recent one of Dolly Parton that I believe Howard Stern did is a warning to all public officials of what technology can do!
Hi Katieanne. Yes, i’ve read that also.
Thanks to one of my readers I was able to track the source of that “transcript.” You can read about it here:http://conservativepolitics.today.com/2008/06/02/origins-of-alleged-doctored-or-concocted-obama-whitey-transcript-uncovered/
I just looked at your spend-o-meter and I’m wondering about all the special interests that helped to compile that. Do you have a list? LOL
