Obama, did you threaten me?

BY VIRGINIA H. SHANAHAN

Listening to Barack Obama’s speech on patriotism filled me with many emotions. All of them negative. Obama opened his speech with a very brief jaunt into history, going back to the origins of this great nation, and the Revolutionary War.

Buried in the observations of these great historical men that took up arms “against the tyranny of an Empire,” is Obama’s attempt to align himself with them. What Obama fails to mention is the ‘tyranny” fought by these courageous men is mild in comparison to the tyranny Obama himself hopes to enforce, should he become President of this nation. Nowhere does he mention his belief that “America’s experiment with democracy” is, in his opinion, a failed one. No where does he mention his desire to lead this nation down the road of Karl Marx, and his failed society.

After defending and praising his own patriotism, Obama declares “So let me say at this at outset of my remarks. I will never question the patriotism of others in this campaign. And I will not stand idly by when I hear others question mine.”

First of all, did he just threaten me, and any others who dare challenge him? What is he going to do if someone does in fact question his “patriotism,” as defined by him? Is he going to give another speech? Is he going to, “bring a gun to a knife fight?” Is he going to form his own brownshirt brigade? What is he going to do?

Obama has not supported the war efforts, or our troops. Hell, he has not been to Iraq in over two years. But, he has certainly spent plenty of time with Bill Ayers, our home-grown terrorist, and Reverend “God damn the KKK of America” Wright. And hey, how about Obama’s condemnation of those bitter people who “cling to their guns and religion?” I have news for Obama and his supporters. I see no need to question what does not exist.

Obama claims, “My concerns here aren’t simply personal, however. After all, throughout our history, men and women of far greater stature and significance than me have had their patriotism questioned in the midst of momentous debates.”

He’s right, men of far greater stature and significance have had their patriotism questioned – including Senator John McCain.

By no means am I a fan of McCain, and I had no intentions of voting for him. But let us be clear, John McCain is more man, of greater relevance, and has more character than Obama could ever hope to have.

How dare I say such a thing! Gasp!

While Obama was running around in diapers, John McCain was a POW in Hanoi Hilton. When his captures offered to release him, and let him go home, McCain declined. He chose to stay with his men, behind enemy lines. He did not run. He did not hide. He did not justify. He did not leave his men.

Barack Obama, on the other hand, knows nothing of loyalty. At the first sign of struggle and heat what does he do? He whines like a girl. He buckles, like a coward. He runs far, and he runs fast. He leaves his men as far behind as possible. He throws them in front of the proverbial bus, runs them down, backs over them, then proceeds to run them down again. Why? Because,Obama has no character. Because, despite what Obama says about himself, and expects from others, nothing is greater to Obama than Obama.

I did not listen to the rest of his nonsense. There was no need. Barack Obama has decided that he is going to try and redefine patriotism. He seems to think patriotism is a relentless assault on this great nation, her traditions, and her customs. Obama, you give your speeches, bring your guns, and heck even start your own brownshirt brigade, but this is one conservative that is not going to sit idly by and let it happen.

everytime this buffoon opens his ignorant mouth i want to go hide somewhere and stay there because he embarasses me for my own country. he delivers speeches using quotes from great leaders and doesnt seem to have an original thought in his racist mind. he is like a piss ant standing next to a real war hero, mccain. i was a staunch democrat until my party got the dumb idea of running this empty suit that has zero accomplishments, terrible judgments, and the audacity to think he can be the leader of the free world. i remain embarassed.

The more I hear Obama speak, the more scared I get that he might get elected. He has not said one thing to make me think that he has the intelligence or the sense to be president.

You are a Republican, having supported George Bush and you question the intelligence of Obama?

I’m with mountainlion, embarrased of my party. I never dreamed it could get as bad as it is. See what good marketing can do? Give the people what they think they want. We’ve been studied and analyzed and this is what they are selling us…many are buying.

This article describes Bush Jr. FAR more accurately than it does Obama.
