Leftist Hypocrisy as John Edwards World Spins Out of Control

I know of no one that would argue the National Enquirer is anything more than a questionable salacious rag but even a broken clock is right twice a day. Two days ago the story of John Edwards meeting with this mistress and love child at the Beverly Hilton, in Los Angles, broke. Why is the mainstream media ignoring this story or do we even need to ask? They were all over the Rush Limbaugh story when allegations of his oxycotin drug addiction went to press. There was no need of confirmation. Though not printed in the National Enquirer the mainstream media was all over the Larry Craig toe touching and the Mark Foley emails, yet they continue to ignore the story of the vice presidential hopeful who touted his fairy tale relationship with his dying wife.

Being who they are and doing what they do the National Enquirer is going to continue milking this story for all it’s worth. Todays very detailed update claims that John Edwards was driven to the hotel, in a BMW, with a baby seat in back, by a Bob McGovern. McGovern is the same man that drove Rielle Hunter and the suspected love child to the hotel. He is apparently a good friend of Hunters. He is also the same man that reserved rooms 246 and 252 under his name.

When asked yesterday about this event John Edwards said he did not know what the reporter was talking about. This was tabloid trash. Tabloids lie. Well, unless the lens cap was left on the camera, I expect photos real soon. Will the media report it then?

yeah, the media is undoubtedly biased with a liberal slant, but there are other issues at hand. For one, there have been enough promiscuity stories circulating about politicians lately, which reduces the interest in this story - The Limbaugh story got more of a ride because oxycontin could easily be associated with him due to his more unique situation. Sadly enough, media outlets could probably get more publicity out of milking Edward’s wife-with-cancer story than out of this story, and I strongly believe that the media’s first interest is their ratings.
Also, the type of celebrity of the individual matters. Limbaugh is somebody that most people on the left and many people on the right would not mind judging for his problems, due to his crass nature. Edwards portrays himself as having more of a kind nature. But yeah, I’m sure that the media very hesitant to pursue this story, though if indisputable evidence came out, they would publicize it, since they wouldn’t really have much of a choice.

Liberals hold no monopoly on hypocricy. You can’t be disdainful of the liberal media jumping on unsubstantiated stories when you so willingly, even jubilantly engage in it yourself. I am often bemused at one side of the political spectrum blaming it’s poor behavior on prior similarly poor behavior by the other side. Who will have the class to stand up and cease the bad behavior first.

And who will actual have real compassion for the wife who is indeed home with cancer enough to say; I’m going to leave this kind of mud slinging to others because it’s not constructive and I have better things to spend my time on?

    Evidently not you.

    Mike
