Obama Lead Gone

According to yesterdays Rasmussen Daily Presidential Tracking Poll Barack Obama and John McCain are each tied at 44% among decided. Factoring in those leaning toward a specific candidate Obama is at 46% and McCain 47%. Though statistically insignificant this is the first time McCain has had an advantage in this race. In this battle for the White House it shows great ground lost by Obama, who at one time had an 8 point lead.

It continues today. For the second day in a row polls show McCain has a small lead over Obama - 47% to 46%. McCain is seen as favorable by 55% of the voters and Obama 53%.

On energy issues 46% trust McCain more than Obama with 42% of trust on this issue. Obama had a 4 point lead four months ago.

More bad news for Obama. 46% believe Obama sees U.S. society as unfair and discriminatory. This is up 3 points from July’s 43% and 7 points from June’s 39%. Americans disagree with Obama by three to one. Americans believe our society is generally fair and decent.

Despite all of this bad news for Obama Rasmussen still gives Obama a 57.4% chance of winning the election.
