John Edwards Admits To Sexual Affair
A few weeks ago the National Enquirer ran a story claiming to have busted Democratic Vice Presidential hopeful John Edwards in a posh hotel with his mistress Rielle Hunter. Edwards is rumored to be the father of Hunters young daughter.
In an interview last night with ABC’s Bob Woodruff, John Edwards admitted that he did have a sexual affair with Rielle Hunter, and he did in fact lie repeatedly during his presidential campaign when asked about their relationship. He went on to state that even though no DNA testing has been done, he is not the father of Hunter’s young daughter.
In an effort to make this seem less sleazy, Edwards made it a point to disclose to Woodruff that his affair with Hunter began when his wife Elizabeth’s cancer was in remission. Her cancer has since been diagnosed as incurable.
He also disclosed that the National Enquier was right. He was at the hotel visiting Hunter without his wife’s knowledge.
He first met Hunter in a bar, and his campaign paid her $114,000 to create some campaign “films,” despite the fact she had no experience. This may actually result in legal problems for Edwards and Hunter.
Edwards claims his family became aware of the affair in 2006.
UPDATE:
In Sean Hannity’s exclusive interview with the editor of the National Enquirer, David Perel, stated Edwards and Hunter had met secretly prior to this most recent episode. He claims Edwards and Hunter met in the same Hotel one month prior to this known meeting.
According to Perel, Edwards spent about 5 hours with Hunter and a bit of time with the baby he claims he did not father.
The Enquirer waited to publish photos in anticipation of Edwards denial of even being at the hotel. This never came.
They are convinced Edwards is the father of the child.
This affair did in fact occur when Elizabeth Edwards had active cancer.
Hunter has been living in extremely expensive homes in South Carolina and California, under assumed names. Once discovered by the Enquirer she was moved to a new location.
