Obama Stole “Lipstick” Speech - From A Cartoon
By Aaron Klein

Remarks by Sen. Barack Obama yesterday leading up to his controversial “lipstick on a pig” jab at the McCain campaign mirror almost word-for-word a political cartoon published last week in the Washington Post.
Much has been made of Obama criticizing McCain’s idea of “change” by stating, “You can put lipstick on a pig, it’s still a pig.” Taking it as an attack McCain’s vice-presidential running mate, Gov. Sarah Palin, the campaign responded with a video on the Internet today.
But less attention has been paid to Obama’s statements just preceding the lipstick reference, which appear to be an un-attributed copy of the caption in a Washington Post political cartoon by Tom Toles Sept. 5.

Obama stated yesterday:
“‘Watch out, George Bush, except for economic policy, health care policy, tax policy, education policy, foreign policy and Karl Rove-stylepolitics – we’re really going to shake things up in Washington!’ That’s not change … you know, you can put lipstick on a pig, it’s still a pig.”

Believe it or not, Sarah Palin does not have exclusive rights to every slogan involving the word “lipstick.”
“Lipstick on a pig” is a figure of speech that has been used by even John McCain. Was he being sexist to Palin a year ago too?
The media has to stop making an issue out of everything the McCain campaign says is sexist. We don’t care about pigs, or patriotism, or jets, or libraries. Let’s get back to the issues that matter.
Jumpin’ Jeeehoseefat! Someone else realized that the economic policies of W. are the same as John McCain’s?!? Say it ain’t so, Ginny!! I cain’st beleeeves it!
If you want to give credit where credit is due, why don’t you come out and say that Obama stole “lipstick on a pig” from John McCain, when he used the same phrase in reference to Hillary Clinton and her healthcare policies?
Obama was talking about the political norm, not referencing Palin. You can try to reword what’s going on, but the essence remains the same
Wow, that is almost identical but it only say that Obama read the Post lol.
