Troopergate Ignites Eruption Of Lawsuits In Alaska

Published by Max Steel at 3:00 am under Uncategorized Edit This

Five members of the Alaskan Legislature filed for injunctive relief in what is now known as “Troopergate.” According to Anchorage attorney Kevin Clarkson, Rep. Wes Keller, Rep. Mike Kelly, Rep. Bob Lynn, Sen. Fred Dyson, and Sen. Tom Wagoner will allege that their colleges have violated the law by turning this process into a political witchhunt and they are asking a judge to issue an emergency order blocking the legislature’s investigation.

That’s not all. Alaska Speaker of the House, John Harris, yesterday called for the Legislative Council to convene in one week to discuss the status of the investigation, stating

“what started as a bi-partisan and impartial effort is becoming overshadowed by public comments from individuals at both ends of the political spectrum.”

Yesterday a group of citizens from Fairbanks and North Pole filed their own suit to stop the investigation claiming it is unconstitutional.

What was supposed to be an impartial investigation- initiated by Sarah Palin herself - became spoiled when Democrat Hollis French promised an “October Surprise” a few weeks ago. The appearance of fairness went out the window completely a few days ago when French struck from the witness list an individual that the impartial lead investigator wanted to interview. Palin has had many run-ins with Democrat Hollis French, who is also an open supporter of Barack Obama.

Palin’s attorney wants the probe moved to the State Personnel Board rather than legislature, where they believe partisan politics will not interfere with the investigation. This sounds like a reasonable compromise.
