A bailout deal has been reached, so read the headlines. A vote is expected today. According to Michelle Malkin the Senate will try and squeeze in a vote before sundown (when the Jewish High Holy Days begin).

Rep. John Boehner, R-Ohio, after calling this bailout bill a “crap sandwich,” went on to say
“Nobody wants to have to support this bill,” but went on to say he is urging “every member whose conscience will allow them to support this to do so.”

Rep. Boehner, if no one wants to eat this “crap sandwich” then why put it on the dinner table? Throw it out and get a new chef. Why poison the masses?

Something stinks in Washington and it’s much more than this crap sandwich. Anyone who watches C-Span as I do would have seen both of the following events on the floor of the house yesterday.

Rep. Marcy Kaptur, a Democrat from Ohio, while urging her fellow elected officials to vote against this bailout deal, issued the following warning to the peoples of America. From the House Floor she said,
“My message to the American people don’t let Congress seal this deal. High financial crimes have been committed.”
“We are Constitutionally sworn to protect and defend this Republic against all enemies foreign and domestic. And my friends there are enemies.”

Rep. Michael Burgess, R-Tx said House Republicans have been cut out of the process, called unpatriotic for not participating, and he personally has been thrown out of more meetings in the past 24 hours than he thought possible as an elected official.
He went on to say they were under Martial Law as declared by the House Speaker last night (this would be Saturday).

Kathryn Jean Lopez, of the National Review, is sharing the following e-mail she received from an unnamed insider. It reads in part:
The Dems have already tipped their hand. They want their agenda attached to this program. And they control Congress. If Obama is elected, they will “tweak” the bill over time, inserting many of the provisions that were stripped out this weekend.
How? The oversight committees will selectively leak carefully chosen ”outrages” that make it appear that minorities and poor-credit individuals are being hardest hit. They’ll rerun their 1980’s PR offensive about “red lining”. Then they’ll promise to “fix” the problem and — voila! — ACORN-like groups will get their money. And a newly Obama-appointed Treasury Secretary will be the main facilitator.

For all of their bravado this week will we be failed yet again? I can only hope this is a political ploy. In my fantasy they wait for Democrats to pass their dirty and corrupt “yay” and then all vote a unanimous“nay.” I know. That’s why I called it my fantasy.
