Its amazing that after all that has happened today that people still are not ready for the CHANGE that will take place.

"We’re spending FOUR TIMES AS MUCH on Obama’s inauguration. He’s FOUR TIMES more significant? Because he’s HALF-black? Obama is HALF-black. Why don’t we call him our first half-white president?"

The last time I checked if obama was walking down the street as just a regular guy we wouldnt say oh their is that half white guy. People would consider him black. I am proud to show my kids someone that is going to rule our nation is a man of color. He has a beautiful African American wife and two kids. Besides the past eight years have been pretty crappy. Its about time for some CHANGE. As far as the balls and galas He is more popular than BUSH

PROUD HALF BLACK WOMAN HERE!!! READY FOR CHANGE!!!!

We're spending FOUR TIMES AS MUCH on Obama's inauguration. He's FOUR TIMES more significant? Because he's HALF-black? Obama is HALF-black. Why don't we call him our first half-white president?

Proof positive once again that liberals are the ones obsessed with race, and inaccurately at that, since they keep insisting he's black.

Of course, all the "African-Americans" are so happy that he's "one of us" when Obama was born to a white mother and a Kenyan father, meaning that he bears ZERO relation to the "slave heritage" of American blacks.

Here's my question to all you who voted for "change." Is spending four times the record for an inauguration because you're falsely claiming some historical first your idea of change? Why doesn't the man so concerned about the budget, the economy, and global warming say NO to this, and use the money to buy us all a Prius each?

Virginia, Certainly even you recognize the significance and historical nature of this inauguration in comparison to all the others we have had. I will spare your column by not noting those differences, but please be fair when comparing and contrasting things such as costs in relation to other factors which have influenced more spending.

I took a media & politics class a couple of years ago. The professor's thesis for the class was that the media is biased toward conservative leaders and slants coverage based on that. In spite of other classmates bringing up very pointed and common instances to the contrary, the professor continued to insist that there was no liberal bias in the press. Kudos to you for demonstrating otherwise.
