Barack Obama and his minions are working overtime to shut down any discussion of his ties to home grown admitted terrorist Bill Ayers.

First he filed a complaint with the Department of Justice over the an ad released by a private group which addressed Obamas relationship with Ayers. The ad can be viewed in the right hand column of this blog. Obama threatened media outlets that agreed to air it. CNN and FoxNews cowed and refused.

Stanley Kurtz, a Harvard Educated Social Anthropologist is looking into documents connecting Obama and Ayers. He has specifically been looking into Obamas relationship with Ayers. In an effort to shut down Kurtz, the Obama campaign is assailing him. Appearing on a radio show last night the Obama drones flooded the phone lines, reading from an email sent out by the Obama campaign demanding this stop.

When asked what Mr Kurtz stated that is wrong, they could not answer. Instead they would read from the script and demand this line of questioning and research stop.

Don’t forget the episode just yesterday where an ABC cameraman was roughed up and arrested outside of a hotel because he was recording high paid lobbyists, and high ranking DNC officials leaving a hotel.

This is the Obamanation.

Ed Morriseey with Hotair said it best:

“Team Obama has become so overwrought at the mere thought of criticism that they now overreact on a constant basis. It’s a measure of the fear in the campaign that they have decided that they cannot abide any criticism at all, and instead of simply responding to it, they attempt to silence it instead. Worse, they seem to believe that the Department of Justice is a great tool for oppressing such criticism — while Democrats accuse the Bush administration of the same, which much less evidence for their allegations.

And in this case, what has Kurtz done? He has demanded access to records that should have been public all along to investigate the workings of a program funded at least in part by public funds. Kurtz wanted to check the records on Obama’s denials of a close working relationship with Weather Underground terrorist William Ayers. In other words, Kurtz attempted to commit the crime of journalism, a crime that seems rare enough as it is when it comes to Obama and his past.

Maybe other journalists should take heed. If Obama becomes president and they commit the crime of Journalism in the First Degree, how will these same people react with the full weight of the federal government behind them? If they stoop to character assassination now, what will they do when they have much more powerful tools at their disposal?”

There is much going on today and tomorrow. For those asleep at the wheel, Obamadonis shall be giving his glowing speech from Mount Olympis tonight. He has his work cut out for him. Especially after Bill Clinton’s speech. The real nail biter is whether or not Obamadonis will accept the DNC Presidendential nomination. I crack myself up.

We conservatives have had a grand time making fun of Obamadonis, now on the other side of the isle, it is being reported that John McCain will notify his VP pick today that they have been selected. The announcement is scheduled for tomorrow at 11:00 a.m. Can they keep it quiet that long, or will operation “Steal their thunder” backfire? We shall see.

The US News & Report is claiming Governor Mitt Romney is out. Truth or wishful thinking on the DNC’s part? Mitt Romney has become the favorite among the conservative base.

Governor Tim Pawlenty is another front runner on McCains list. I do not know anything about him as a person or politican. He could be a great pick or a miserable failure, however, he does not have the name recognition Romney has.

Joe Libermans name is still floating hot and heavey. Would McCain, who came back from the political graveyard, cut his own throat by picking LIberman? The Politico is reporting that Karl Rove personally called Joe Liberman and asked Liberman to contact McCain and take his name off the list. Rove told Liberman his selection would destroy the party. Rove is right.

Chatter surrounding Senator Kay Bailey Hutchinson of Texas has risen in the last day or so as well. As much as I like her, I do not want another Senator on the ticket.

Ed Morrissey of HotAir has a photo of the stage being erected. He also has a clip from the Star Trek series. It’s a hysterical must see.

Hillary Clinton hit it out of the park last night. She electrified and energized the democrats in the Pepsi Center, and those sitting on their couch at home. The problem is they were left wondering why Hillary was not the nominee.

Her introductory video was powerful, and unlike Obama, she had a great story to tell. Had she been telling that story all along she may well have been the speech maker on Thursday night.

Hillary gave a charged speech that presented a factual command of the issues facing the nation, and the world. Contrasted with the huge gaffes made by Barack Obama, she really made herself appear Presidential.

She only mentioned Barack Obama 10 times, and it was nothing more than generic, obligatory, support. She played her part with her endorsement, and she played it to a minimum.

Tonight is Bill Clintons turn. He, like his wife, will bring down the house. It will be about him (Bill Clinton), and it will be a fantastic speech, giving just enough support to Obama that will enable democrats to say “he did what he was supposed to do.”

Joe Biden, Obama’s selected running mate, is also scheduled to speak tonight. How will he do? We shall see. He has an extensive history of putting both feet in his mouth. Many people do not know who Joe Biden is. Tonight will be their first introduction. There is certainly much pressure on him - especially after Hillary Clinton’s speech, and no doubt Bill’s.

Obama, known for his speech making, now faces a real challenge. He has reserved a huge 75,000 seat stadium, and those people are expecting more than empty platitudes, and they certainly expect more than a 10 point plan for the future.Between the Clinton speeches, and this stadium that can hopefully house Barack Obama’s ego, the crowd is expecting something messianic.

Obama has really put himself in a bad bad position. His speech has to be greatest speech in the history of speeches. At a minimum it has to be better than Hillary’s - and Hillary gave a great speech, and due to the large size of the arena, he has to find a way to touch each individual on a personal level. That is near impossible.

Did the chosen ones ego just bring down his own house of cards?

It’s getting good folks.

Obama’s attorneys sent a letter to the Department of Justice, demanding an investigation into whether or not the 527 group in Texas that released this ad violated Federal Election laws. American Projects, Inc responded with their own letter to the DOJ.

In the meantime, Obama’s team also responded with the following weak ad. A sure sign he is in big big trouble.

Call me jaded, but I was not at all impressed with Michelle Obama’s speech last night. She appeared to be a contained, controlled, hyper, tense, still angry, woman trying to pull off June Cleaver. It did not work for me.

The speech itself was okay, for someone else. It was not her. It was obvious that every pause, chuckle, inflection of voice was scripted. Certainly the crowd loved her. Of course they were going to. She could have told them all to jump in a lake, and they would have cheered her on.

Some people can be made over. Some people can be made anew. Michelle Obama is not one of those people. She is who she is for better or worse. Her handlers failed, but then again they didn’t have much to work with.

That being said, the daughters are adorable. Absolute dolls. But, the end when Daddy came on screen too hokey. And, it will behoove Barack to remember where he is. Lucky for him one of his cherubs provided the opportunity to correct his mistake.
